West Hills Animal Healing Center: Swim Attendant

We are not currently hiring for this position, but you are welcome to scroll down and submit an application to have on file if an opportunity opens up.

Our Swim Attendants are team members who love making both two-legged and four-legged clients feel welcome and cared for as they come in for their swim appointments at West Hills Animal Healing. Imagine being the first smiling face they see, offering a warm greeting in the lobby and making sure every step of their visit is as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Here’s what you’ll be diving into:

  • Leading clients into our facility with a gentle touch, using Fear Free techniques to weigh our furry guests, making sure they're as comfy as can be.
  • Guiding clients and their pets to the pool area, ensuring they have everything they need for a splash-tastic time (think towels and toys!).
  • Keeping the swim sessions flowing smoothly, so everyone has a punctual and enjoyable experience.
  • Being on top of pool area cleanliness and safety – because nothing says 'welcome' like a sparkling clean space.
  • Tidying up crates, doing laundry, washing dishes, and ensuring the whole facility, not just the pool area, is neat and inviting.
  • From dusting and vacuuming to taking out the trash and keeping our windows gleaming, you'll play a key part in making our facility a place where clients and their pets can’t wait to return.
  • Keeping our parking lot pristine and welcoming, because first impressions count.

What makes you the perfect fit:

You embody the essence of high standards, consistently elevating the level of client service and patient advocacy with your commitment. Your organizational skills and dedication to cleanliness transform any environment you're a part of, making it markedly better. Not only are you adept at managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously, but you also do so with grace, maintaining both your composure and a cheerful demeanor. You are looking for a part-time opportunity (8-20 hours a week) and want to spend your extra time with our furred friends.

Skills We’re Looking For:

While prior experience isn't a prerequisite, we are in search of an individual who boasts excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of forging strong connections with teammates, supervisors, doctors, and clients alike. The ideal candidate will also exhibit problem-solving abilities and a positive attitude, contributing to the upbeat atmosphere of our practice. Furthermore, the ability to handle the physical demands of the job, such as lifting, moving, standing, walking, and maintaining dexterity, is essential.

Educational Requirements:

A high school diploma or an equivalent is what we're looking for – because the best gigs often start with a solid foundation.

Work Environment:

Our day to day is lively and vibrant, often filled with the sounds of our four-legged clients expressing themselves (yes, that means barking dogs!). It's a place where every day moves quickly, and the atmosphere can sometimes become tense as we navigate the challenges of providing top-notch care. Despite these moments, we pride ourselves on maintaining a spirit of excellent customer service at all times.

If creating a welcoming, clean, and friendly environment for pets and their parents along with getting to help dogs have the best time swimming sounds like your kind of day, we’d love to chat. Dive into this opportunity to make a splash in our community and join a team where every day is a chance to make a difference!

quotes
“I took 10-year-old Dusty in for his semi-annual exam. He is always thrilled when he sees we're at West Hills, as he associates them with love and cookies. Dr. Remcho and the rest of the team showed their usual warmth, competence, and care for Dusty throughout the process. I will admit that I sometimes cringe when I see the bills, but I never doubt that Dusty is getting the best possible care. ”
