Are you someone who loves connecting with people and their pets? Our Vet Assistants play a vital role in ensuring both our furry patients and their human companions feel cared for and supported. In this position, you'll be the right-hand person to our veterinarians, assisting with exams and providing crucial education to our clients about their pets' medical needs. Your dedication to exceptional client service and patient advocacy will shine through as you maintain open lines of communication, educate with integrity, and create meaningful connections.
Here's a glimpse into what your day-to-day might look like:
- You'll kick-start each day by ensuring our clinic is ready for action, from opening checklists to setting up exam rooms with all the essentials.
- Collaborating with your teammates, you'll help plan our daily workflow to ensure smooth sailing for all appointments and procedures.
- From greeting clients and escorting them to exam rooms to gathering patient histories and assisting with exams, your caring touch will be felt at every step.
- You'll be there to offer support and comfort during euthanasia appointments, showing empathy and understanding in difficult moments.
- With attention to detail, you'll prepare vaccines, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure timely follow-ups for our patients.
- Answering phones, assisting clients, and sharing your knowledge of OTC products will be second nature to you.
- Embracing our mission and core values, you'll be proactive, a team player, and committed to lifelong learning and improvement.
Skills We’re Looking For:
While prior experience isn't a prerequisite, we are in search of an individual who boasts excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of forging strong connections with teammates, supervisors, doctors, and clients alike. The ideal candidate will also exhibit problem-solving abilities and a positive attitude, contributing to the upbeat atmosphere of our practice. Furthermore, the ability to handle the physical demands of the job, such as lifting, moving, standing, walking, and maintaining dexterity, is essential. We value eagerness to learn and grow, expecting the candidate to complete required continuing education courses and tackle new challenges with enthusiasm.
Educational Requirements:
A high school diploma or an equivalent is what we're looking for – because the best gigs often start with a solid foundation.
Work Environment:
Welcome to our bustling world – it might get a bit noisy with barking dogs and the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced vibe. Tension might sneak in (with our sometimes very ill patients), but we're all about supporting each other through it.
Aside from being part of a caring and supportive team, you'll enjoy a fulfilling role where you make a real difference in the lives of pets and their families. Plus, you'll have access to ongoing training, opportunities for personal and professional development, and a positive work environment where your contributions are valued and celebrated.
Benefits:
To show our appreciation for your dedication and hard work, we offer a comprehensive benefits package for full time employees, including 401(k) matching, dental, health, and vision insurance, paid time off, opportunities for professional development, employee discounts, and even your scrubs on us!
